Original Acrylic Painting by Ann Hackett

Ann Hackett creates jewelry and abstract acrylic paintings from her Medford, Oregon studio. Although her career began in the business world, Ann always had a keen appreciation for art in all its forms. After experiencing a damaging personal crisis, she began exploring her own creativity as part of her healing journey, painting first to express her pain, then key moments in the process of recovery. Today, Ann still uses this approach, sitting with her feelings and expressing them through her brush using broad strokes and bright colors in acrylic on canvas or paper. Increasingly pure whimsy and exploration drive her creative process.

Ann has trained with Janet Bocast of Medford, Oregon, and in Santa Fe, NM.

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.

Ann began making jewelry as a hobby in 2004. After making far more than she could give away to family and friends, she started selling her work at the Downtown Phoenix Public Market in Phoenix, AZ. Now back in her home state of Oregon, Ann has returned to jewelry making, working with sterling silver and semiprecious stones.

my inspirations

I would like to acknowledge several people whose inspiration and support have helped me greatly in my journey as an artist:

Every blade of grass has its Angel that bends over it and whispers, Grow, grow.
